A sewer plant expansion project has turned up some unlikely things in Hartford — including artifacts that could be thousands of years old.
The archaeological dig, which is part of the planned site of a White River Treatment Plant expansion, was required by the federal government.

A man found running wearing no pants on a South Burlington rec path Saturday was arraigned and charged today with two felony counts of lewd and lascivious conduct at Vermont District Court in Burlington.
Court records state that Richard Michaud, 38, of Williston, exposed himself to two female victims near Brewer Parkway.
Michaud has prior conviction for "open and gross lewdness" in Massachusetts, Corporal Paul Kissell, the investigating officer, wrote in a court affidavit.

Police arrested a homeless man Thursday they say entered South Burlington High School with a pellet gun earlier this month.
Prince Crawford, 28, was charged with disorderly conduct and false public alarm for the Oct. 18 incident.

Police say a Vermont nail salon manager upset with a man smoking outside of his business stabbed him after they started to fight.
The Burlington Free Press reports 40-year-old Stephen Le of South Burlington was cited for aggravated assault and was to be arraigned Friday.
Police say 23-year-old Daniel Dennis of Essex was treated for an abdominal wound.

A dispute over cigarette smoking rights turned violent Wednesday afternoon when a shopkeeper at a South Burlington shopping center on Shelburne Road stabbed a man in the abdomen and was later arrested, according to police.
He is expected to be arraigned on the charge today at Vermont District Court in Burlington.

Voters in South Burlington threw their support behind a new, $7.2 million police station Tuesday.
A bond to fund the purchase and refitting of an industrial building on Gregory Drive passed 1,984 to 855, with about 70 percent of voters approving the bond vote, City Clerk Donna Kinville said.
